Ruth is principal of Squaretree, a social change marketing firm. Squaretree partners with changemakers: nonprofits, small businesses, coalitions and artists. After studying the science of collaboration and the art of social change—and learning from the wisdom of practitioners around the world—Ruth created Squaretree to promote the holistic nature of social change and storytelling. Squaretree's social media, website design, branding and communications strategy services move your mission forward in an inclusive, resource-responsive way.
Ruth is also the 2019 National Liaison and 2018 Communications Chair for the Young Nonprofit Professionals Network of the Twin Cities and an identity-based leadership facilitator for the Minnesota Rising network. She is trained in Art of Hosting facilitation including appreciative inquiry, strategic event design and adaptive leadership.
Previously, Ruth managed stakeholder and digital engagement for Minnesota Compass, a project of Wilder Research; and coordinated corporate/nonprofit connections for Greater Twin Cities United Way. Her experience includes social enterprise, marketing and community development in Ecuador, India, Spain and greater Minnesota. She holds a BA in Spanish with focus areas in Management and International Development from the University of Minnesota, Morris.
Her favorite ways to move include Pilates and salsa dancing. Most memorable dance venue: La Topa Tolondra in Cali, Colombia. Pronouns: she/her.
